I certainly enjoyed reading the Velvet series. This is a great conclusion.
Miles is the youngest of the Montgomery brothers. When Elizabeth Chatworth (yes, sister to the hated Roger)was delivered to him rolled in a rug, & being a lover of the opposite sex, he immediately wanted her. But Elizabath grew up hearing so many derogatory thing said about the Montgomery men that she wasn't about to surrender.
Poor Elizabeth, having a brother like Edmund (mentioned in the Velvet Promise) had a terrible childhood. But Miles's being sweet & loving to alll women, whom he regards as something to protect & love (isn't he sweet, lol) was able to penetrate her to thaw her frozen heart of hatred & mistrust .
This was a rough path for the love birds, so many obstacles on both sides. But this was the beginning of the end, as their coming together was able to bring about what none other could. This is a story of great family bond & forgiveness. You must read the series in order.
1st. Velvet Promise( Gavin & Judith's story. Judith is the best of alll the wives)
2nd. Highland Velvet (Stephen & Bronwyn's story)
3rd. Velvet Song( Raine & Alyx's story, my favourite)
lastly velvet Angel (Miles & Elizabeth's story)
