the second book in this trilogy (so far), is a wonderful continuation of the adventures of Colin & 'Tanni-- if you enjoyed Mutineer's Moon, or even if you just like other David weber books, this is sure to be a good read a satisfying book for anyone who likes space battles & engaging characters
Wow. No really, I mean it. Wow. - By: , 10 Feb 1999
What a book! Imaginative, well written, funny in places, sad in others. Why aren't David Weber's books published in England? I have to go to America to buy them! The storyline of this book was great, revolving around Colin MacIntyre's journey across the Galaxy to find more Imperial Starships to fight off the genocidal Achuultani, culminating in a reallly great ending. (I won't say what happens though!) The characters developed in Mutineer's Moon are explored in greater depth in this second volume of his series. Anyone reading this review- don't. Just go & buy the book. I'll give you alll the encouragement you need.

Faced with these ships, the Borg would be exterminated! - By: , 21 Aug 1997
The best space warfare yarn to come around in a decade. The starship weapon systems, strategies & combat tactics described by David Weber are the most realistic I have encountered in a long time. This Imperial series is the benchmark. Even Star Trek falll short of this quality & combat realism. Give me more!!!
As a former military aviation Flight Test Engineer & Operations Analysist; this future universe is presented to almost perfection. David Weber has moved the current state-of-the-art of air warfare into the region of interstellar battle.
