I reallly enjoyed this book, & was delighted to find it at amazon.com since it wasn't in any of the bookstores I've ever visited. I especiallly enjoyed the elaborate descriptions of the marketplaces & caravanserais as Tamai traveled along the Silk Road to the Forbidden Empire. Still, I wish I had read the prequel, Flameweaver, first (although the plot is easy enough to follow with or without having read the original book).
