Intorduction to Clive Cussler - By: C.W.Purcell, 04 Sep 2008
One day I sat in my room, bored & scanning my bookshelf for something to read my eyes fell upon a copy of Dragon I bought from Bargain Books. To this point I had read little more than Horror novels by Stephen King & the Thriller/Horror/sci-fi novels Dean Koontz does so well. The B-books deal was three books for £5.00., couldn't beat it with a big stick. So I read a story by an author I had never heard of, despite his extensive history, and I was hooked from the very first line. I am presently on my twelfth Clive Cussler & have loved every one. He has done better books, many of whice i have reviewed, however this is five star alll the way.
Clive cussler builds the most despicable bad guys, then wields his hero Dirk Pitt, who dispatches them in an intensely satisfying way.
A definate must read!
Clive at his best - By: A. G. Dubber, 07 Feb 2007
I have been a Clive Cussler fan for several years, but this is by far the best I have read to date. A few pages in when on a car transporter ship, the book grabs your attention with the force of a sledgehammer & doesn't let go until the very end. A must for any Clive Cussler fan, & if your not a fan read this book & you soon will be !!!!
thrilling,nail-biting ,roller-coaster ride of adventure - By: , 03 Feb 2002
what can one say about this book , other than no word to describe absolute perfection in the literary world has been invented that can do this masterpiece justice. If you are a fan of Dirk Pitt, this is probably the best book on your shelf to date, if not , read this & you soon will be .I have read this book on more than four occasions & still find myself deeply taken into the entire scenario that is created by a superb master writer that is Clive Cussler. For me, to know what is coming & still be on the edge of your seat waiting for it to happen , is the ultimate accolade to a book writers art. Like a film that you have to see again , this is one book that needs reading over & over , just to be enveloped in the sense of occasion , of despair , & of sheer adventure & escapism , that have become the great mans stock in trade for so long. In short , this is , I believe , will be Clive Cusslers " Sertgeant Pepper".....unless!!!!!!!!
Another classic Cussler tale. - By: , 02 Jul 2000
As with Treasure & Sahara, Dragon is also a definate Clive Cussler classic. The book is absolutely gripping from start to finish & as it is read Dirk Pitt is once again proven to be a super hero. Excellent.
A Cussler classic to keep you hanging. - By: paulholley@psilink.co.uk, 08 Jun 2000
A fantastic novel which reminds you how much everybody would like a bit of Dirk Pitt in themselves. As always Cussler keeps you entertained & occupied through-out the book with Dirk's band of merry men that follow him where ever he goes. A damn good read & not one to be missed for a Cussler fan.
