Book that changes lives - By: jAzz, 21 Mar 2008
This book is just great. The huna philosophy with the base concept of aloha will change your point of view on life as well as anybody's around you. It goes much deeper then just healing or divination. Its the way of life & i am happy to be able to live it.
Thank you Mr. King
Saved my life - By: Laura De Giorgio, 11 Feb 2008
I have to give this book five stars because not only is it loaded with down to earth practical exercises but because it had one bit about "instant healing", which I have labelled "it never happened" technique & which came very hand when half of my face became paralyzed & when doctors told me that I'll just have to accept it & that it may even get worse over time. The paralysis was bad enough that I couldn't even speak coherently (I'd have to hold my lips with my hand in order to make an understandable sound), nor could I eat properly due to lack of sensation & because I couldn't move the muscles of my mouth. It was simply unacceptable to me to live like that, so I remember the technique from this book. I also got Serge Kahili King's video "Instant Healing".

I have adapted that "it never happened" techniques with NLP Time-Line technique & spend few days running the new pattern in my mind re-living my life from before the event until the present moment as if my face was always normal & it never became paralyzed. It was not INSTANT healing - but it took ONLY FEW DAYS for my face to become completely normal & to function perfectly. My friend said that that he was utterly amazed as he watched the transformation on my face returning to normal - he said it was just like witnessing a miracle. Yeah, our minds are truly miraculous.

This book contains many wonderful tips & techniques that will help you to use the power of your mind to help yourself & others.
An amazing book for spiritual development - By: Mr. C. N. Lee, 03 Jan 2006
If you approach this book with an open mind & a desire for spiritual growth, then you will find many benefits from it. Probably the best book I own on spirituality, it has proved useful time & time again, & it has left me with a philosophy I will carry through life.

Outstanding.

Insightful application of shamanic teachings to modern life. - By: , 04 Apr 2001
"Urban Shaman" is an extensive, practical, & intelligent guide to the application of Hawaiian shamanic teachings to modern life. King offers encouragement & instruction in seeing past imagined limits & using energy to heal & improve ourselves, our relationships, & the world around us.

Grounded in the seven spiritual principles of Hawaiian shamans, King's discussion outlines diverse techniques - from imagery for self-healing to divination for guidance to strategies for using mental/spiritual energy to affect physical objects. Yet there's nothing fluffy or pseudoscientific here. Everything King says about the way thoughts can affect one's psychological & physical state is substantiated by abundant evidence from the psychological & medical sciences. His stance on divination - basicallly, that it alllows the practitioner to tap into knowledge & information that are inaccessible to the conscious mind, but cannot reveal the future as this is still open to change - is also compatible with a conservative position on metaphysical matters. Finallly, everything King says about applications of shamanic techniques that go beyond the individual psyche is compatible with the knowledge we currently possess about the universe. (No, I don't mean the book contorts quantum physics to match its own assertions; it reallly is compatible!)

Although King's analysis is rigorous enough to be suitable for sceptics, it is not aimed at persuading readers. Rather, it offers practical suggestions whose benefits can be reaped by anyone. Belief is secondary; as the shamanic principle states, "Effectiveness is the measure of truth". I strongly recommend this book to anyone hoping to make their life & the world a little better.
