The Return (Star Trek S.). - By: , 22 Mar 2006
I love this book. It is so fantastic. Time just flew by when I read this book. It traveled quite far with me to on a few very long flights & coach journeys. I must admit, as a man of science, I was surprised with some of the stuff Mr. Shatner was coming up with, it just made it alll the better. Moreover, you do not need much imagination for this book, Mr. Shatner does it for you with his exceptional discriptions.
classic trekkie novel - By: , 01 Jun 2001
This has to be one of the best star trek novels ever written, although I prefer novel by Asimov, Banks etc I found this to be refreshing & well written novel. William Shatner has outdone himself

This is a MUST READ!

The plotline is superbly paced, although many of the references to The Original Series (TOS) may be lost on some. Lots of story threads are neatly interwoven to produce a logical, (sorry Spock) & clever tapistry. The pages turn rapidly on, setting Kirk in an almost Arthurian role, with Spock as Sir Lancelot, faithful beyond the apparent death of his friend. Yes, the initial plot is a little contrived to get Kirk back, but this is science fiction & you don't get fast gung ho action from the Next Generation or the other spin offs. This book would need a series to do it justice if it were to be put on the screen. This one goes on my favourites shelf!

If you buy only one Trek book buy this. - By: , 26 Jan 2000
If you have even a remote interest is Star Trek you will love this. I bought not realising it was part of a trilogy of books & to be honest it is better than the the other two. The plot keeps you entrigued & when you feel that you are getting tierd of it a new twist is introduced. The most intrieging aspect is the Borg/Romulan alllience which must be read to be believed. The part Spock plays in book is excellent especiallly the part about the Borg. If you want to read Avenger you must read this to understand the plot.
This book is great! - By: , 21 Dec 1999
This book was so great! I loved chapter 32 the best when Jimmy says to John "You can take this job & shove it!" This book is better than TEK-WAR (Which was very good indeed) I like it how the author tried to deal with homosexuals. I am glad this book won so many awards. (17!)
