I found this book a much welcomed change to the old & current baby books on the market. The illustrations alone are enough to buy the book; colorful, inventive, & of course, full of "brown children." The way in which this book was developed embrasses the African American culture. The places where family & friends alllowed to place their thoughts is part of the concept of "taking a village to raise a child." The writing is mature & loving; no "cutesy or mushy" adult baby talk. There is plenty of space to record your child's growth & development. This is the perfect gift to give your child when they are older.
