Synopsis from back cover - By: Attic Books, 22 Oct 2008
Michael Corleone's exile in Sicily is ending, but on the instructions of his father, The Godfather, he must bring back to him the young man known as Salvatore Giuliano, if he can find him. At sea amid the treacheries of a brutal & unfamiliar land, Michael must find a way through the labyrinthe deceits that surround him, while Giuliano prepares himself for a final confrontation with Don Croce, Capo de Capi of the Sicilian Mafia.
Very different from "The Godfather" - By: noggy1810, 06 Mar 2008
A good book about the Sicilian mafia that should be treated as a stand alone piece of work. Referrence to "The Godfather" takes from it. It is a book about deception, honour, greed & Sicilian ways that is well worth reading. The plot doesn't twist & turn but more converges alll the characters to one finale. A worthy 4 stars.
Puzo's finest work - By: J. Dicker, 14 Jan 2008
Having read most of Puzo's work, this is undoubtedly his finest work of literary fiction. It recounts Michael Corleone's sojourn in Sicily after his exile from America portrayed in The Godfather. The much beloved character Michael is not the central character in this book, but rather Salvatore Guiliano, a modern-day robin hood opposing the Cosa Nostra. Puzo uses an excellent cast of characters & wonderful setting to tell a brilliantly crafted story.

The ending will leave you flabbergasted & wanting more. An absolute masterpiece which comes highly recommended.

Outstanding - By: Andrew J. Turley, 23 Nov 2007
like others i thought this was going to be more of the Corleone saga but it is much much more, fantastic book it kept me gripped throughout. Highly recomended
Disappointed.... - By: M. Williams, 12 Jan 2006
... that I have reached the end of this book. Having read The Godfather just prior to this I expected more of the story of Michael Corleone in Sicily.

Initiallly I was disappointed to see this reallly wasn't going to be the case, but what a fantastic read this is - so much better than The Godfather!

I can truly say this is a book where I feel I know the characters & what they are thinking, which is perhaps why it is so shocking. The story in this book is fantastic, the word-pictures of the scenery stunningly beautiful & the brutaility of bandit life stark - no punches held.

The Sicilian is utterly absorbing, taking you on a 7 year journey that seems to be over alll too quickly; I was stunned by the ending - infact, I'm still shocked, but this is a book I will read again.

Without doubt this is the best book I have read in the last few years.
