A Must Have For Any Charmed Fan! - By: , 13 Apr 2005
This book is based on the first episode of the first series of Charmed titled "Something Wicca This Way Comes" although it doesn't exactly go along with the whole episode, but to be honest I don't think that reallly matters, It's a good read for any fan of Charmed, whether there an adult of a child...But I wouldn't imagine that it would be interesting in anyway to someone that's never seen Charmed in there life. But if you are a complete Charmed obsessive (as I am) it will be a very good buy.
The Power of Three needs a kick-start! - By: IJ, 11 Apr 2005
This book is very accessible, short, easy to get into & very light entertainment, but as a lover of the 'Charmed' TV series I was surprised to find myself struggling to remain interested in the simplistic plot. I also had the advantage of never having seen the pilot for the TV series, which is apparently the same story, but even though this was my introduction to the sisters three, I wasn't always gripped.
Prue, Piper & Phoebe are alll here & very vividly brought to life by the author (although maybe that was simply me giving them the characteristics of the actresses who play them in the show, hmmm). But either way there were times when even they felt empty & one-dimensional to me.
It's admirable that this book concentrates more on character than plot because these young ladies are the centre of the show, but unless you've watched the show & make an concerted effort to visualise the mannerisms & physicality of the performances from the main actresses you will easily pick up on the linear plot. I just don't believe the author compensated enough for the lack of magical set pieces with characters or plot twists i.e. it was no surprise who turned out to be the warlock.
Power of three - By: , 12 Mar 2004
I thought this book was brilliant & a good entry for the charmed ones into the witch & demon world. And when Prue & Piper don't believe Pheobe about them becoming witches was very exciting. The author used a ton of suspense. I basicallly thought it was fantastic.
Charmed totally CHARMED!!!!!!!!! - By: Danielle Miller, 21 Jan 2004
This book gives you total detail of the first episode. It is an very intresting book & I know that I didn't want to put it down. Even if you didn't or haven't seen the first episode you get it very clearly. I think if you didn't by this book you would regret it. Though I am a huge CHARMED fan so I don't think I would say a bad word about it because I find every episode better that the last. So even if you don't buy this book start watching the series because it is WICKED. Well reallly only if your into that supernatiral stuff which I am. Reallly if your not as soon as you watch CHARMED you will be.
The first book with the very Charming Halliwell sisters - By: , 25 Jan 2003
Prue & Piper Hallliwell live in a comfortable large manor left to them by their Grandmother after she died, but when their younger sister, Phoebe comes to live there too, she finds a mysterious book of witchcraft in the attic.
Phoebe reads an incantation in the book & beleives that it will give her & her sisters magic powers, but Prue & Piper are not convinced.
Soon the sisters lives are turned upside down as their powers are revealed, but with an evil warlock after their powers the sisters need to quickly learn to harness their magic before they are killed.
I thought this book was brilliant, as a fan on the series this is based on i had high expectations & they were met & surpassed - i would recommend this book to anybody, even if you havent watched Charmed.
