its ok to pass the time - By: , 03 Feb 2006
...But only that. The big bad in this book, Julian, simpli annoy me too much. He seems like a bad spike image, only without Spike.
Also the whole town going insane, come on reallly, poison in the water???? And trust me im not reallly giving anything important away.
If you buy it to read in transit, its a good book, & you can pretty much put i down anytime. But if you want some quality time in your favorit chair with a thrilling book, look elsewhere
Not a bad read - By: , 22 May 2001
This is a reallly well written book but it does have its problems. It poses the evil vampire as too powerful, Buffy has killed the baddest vampire of them alll, The Master, so no other vampire should be as powerful. Apart fom that problem its a great read & I would recommend it to anyone who is a fan of Buffy. Its well devolped & imaginative not a fave but definately not one that should get thrown away.
Clichéd, disjointed, all in all badly written!!! - By: , 08 Apr 2001
Look, I'm sorry but someone has to point a few truths out about 'The Evil That Men Do'. Yes its got Buffy, Willow, Xander, Giles & the rest of the gang, but is that any reason to give a book 4/5 stars. Of course it isn't. The simple truth is its terrible!!! Its the first book I've read by Nancy Holder, & definately the last. Whoever alllowed this book to be published should be staked. Lets start with the dialogue. Every sentence Xander utters is a one liner, funny the first couple of times but alll the way through the book? I think not. Then theres the continuity. I guarantee you'll be turning back a couple of pages, making sure you haven't missed an important paragraph. It jumps alll over the place, someone goes missing & Buffy knows exactly where they are. How? No one tells her, & if they do, we the readers, are not privvy to it. The story in the hands of a decent writer could be good, if clichéd. But in the hands of Ms Holder it is just to over the top. The battle arena scene for instance. The audience are ALL dressed as if they're still in the 17th century!!! When did you last see a vamp in a velvet tunic wearing a powder wig in 20th century? NEVER!
a really,really brill book! - By: , 22 Jan 2001
i thought that "The Evil That Men Do" was a reallly exciting, imteresting book.i have read a number of Buffy books including Blooded,Child of the Hunt,Ghost Roads & The Xander Years Vol.2 & i found alll of them reallly well written. As i don't have a tv i can't watch the series but i am almost glad because i can give them my own appearences in my imagination. i am hoping to get The Sons Of Entropy & Return to Chaos & i hope they will be as good as the others i have read.
Best book I've read in ages - By: , 09 Sep 2000
I relly liked this book & I also liked the way that Nancy Holder did the plot. I mean it's practicallly impossible for that to happen but it did. The vampire's Julian & Helen reallly got my attention cuz they reminded me of Spike & Drusilla so much. I would totallly recommend this book to anyone that wants to read it because it reallly is one of the best Buffy book's I've read!
