I read this great romantic-adventure into the Jungle Amazon in just one day. The story line was so interesting that I did not even feel the tireness of my eyes. It was electrical, magical, & the air of Mythology alll around it, will make you to travel to that place & get lost in there. The characters are very well developed even though I found Ben's attitude a little possessive. Enjoy this book as much as I & let yourself being trapped by this history.
A wonderful journey - By: , 17 Jan 2003 I just finished reading this book today, & what can i say. It has alll the ingredients that a 'good' book should have. great story line, great characters, & finallly sizzling romance. read this book it will blow you away.
I am not particularly interested in archaeology, however i found the story about the amazons faciniating, & the details of the expidition added substanance to the story.

It is stunning! Jillian Sherwood is a proper lady with a sensible background. But that proper lady is suddenly out of her norm when she ventures into the jungles of Brazil looking for the Heart of a Fire a rare red diamond. But she is not tea-sipping Miss, she is an archaeologist & willing to stake everything that the myth of the red diamond is real. Ben is the alll man, river guide that think the myth a bunk but is getting paid for the trip. As someone in their party betrays them Ben & Jillian must band together to survive.
I LOVED these character, & it is Howard at her best!
The most thrilling book I have ever read! - By: juliette_chapman@spring.com, 19 Jul 2000 I wasn't sure about the title of this book as it was a bit "tacky" but was interested once I read the story line as I like travelling & far aware places. Once I started to read I couldn't put this book down. The characters are excellent, it is full of passion, sadness, it is funny & exciting, a real page turner. Two days after I finished reading it I picked it up again & read it. This is every woman's desire to find a man like Ben. His character was good because it wasn't over the top. This is the best book I have ever read. so far....
Read this book you'll love it - By: , 22 May 1999 I loved this book!! The characters were great & made you feel like you were in the jungle with them. I loved the rythem of the book, it moved so smoothly. You have to read this book & other Linda Howard books. I am constantly looking for more of her work.
