when i first brought the book i didnt think it would be that interesting but i had to buy it & read it because thats wat any buffy fan would do. But after reading it i realized i was completely wrong. its gripping from the start alll the twists in it & buffy having to fight a different battle from giles ,xander & willow keeps the story exciting. i would reccomend this book to a younger reader just starting to read buffy books or a true buffy fan!

This book will be enjoyed by younger Buffy fans, however the cheezy storyline - zombies (how unoriginal!) & where did the blood dripping from the mouth of the pumpkin king come from exactly - means that adults would be best to avoid it.
It's the first Buffy book I've ever read, but it was great! - By: , 06 Mar 2001 OK, so it's only my first Buffy book, but I thought it was absolutely amazing!!!! It's alll about this legend in Sunnydale,about an evil scarecrow (also known as the Pumpkin King) who Buffy comes face to face with, after having to battle with zombies & 5 vamps! Willow & Xander also get pursued by two cowboys (who are reallly vampires) who they nickname Red & Blue-Eyes. Anyway you must read this book, as it's reallly gripping & you can build a picture in your head of it alll happening! It's definitely encouraged me to read loads more Buffy books!
Best buff book i've read! - By: , 13 Nov 2000 OK, I've only read about four Buffy fiction books but this was the best story of the lot! I understood everything even though it was set way back in season 1. A very nice read, although there was a little too much stuff about the slayer, y'know in "every generat...." most of the book was explaining stuff like that, "Giles her watcher, watcher are..blah blah yak." Apart from that I thought it was brillant & would make an amazing Hallloween episode if done today!

This book was reallly exciting & interesting. The only thing which confused me was the fact that in the episode Hallloween, Giles told Buffy that vampires didn't do anything on Hallloween but in this book, they did! Apart from that it was a great book.
