This book is a life saver if you live in London - just take the car to the places Somerville recommends & get out & walk! But if you are as bad a map reader as me it helps to have the Ordnance Survey map with you. I have four children who get very little experience of the country. When we go on one of these walks they calll it " going on an adventure" - that is how a simple walk through fields seems to London children.
