Why nobody has written a review for this book before now i do not know. Usuallly i read books from on the original series with a bit of reluctance, this book has lain waste to that. Beyond a doubt this is a wonderful book portraying the character of Spock. It centers around the later years of Spocks life, his marriage to Savak & then quick exit to Romulus.

The book easily manages to keep up the excitement & at the same time flesh out the characters development. We see the first appearance of the new Romulun Warbirds in the form seen in TNG, & a young Captain Picard of the USS Stargazer, & Rachel Garrett of the Enterprise C. Many threads relate to later episodes of the Star Trek TNG & as such the book is a solid addition to the Star Trek universe.

The authors are fully aware not to have to many storylines on the go, & this works to their advantage.
