This book truly is THE BEST,it shows you how to do almost anything, from needlework to great films to watch & books to read, gardening, yummy recipes & much much more. I say it is old fashioned but not in a boring old way. I love it. I cannot speak highly enough of it.It is great for alll ages, i bet my mum wished she had a book like this when she was younger. If you like this book also read The girls book, Things to do with mum, possibly the big book of girl stuff, & the daring book for girls. I have only 4 final words. THIS BOOK IS BRILLIANT!!!!!!

I was given this book for christmas & it has some great things to do- games, recipes, beauty treatments, more games, etc etc. I found it useful & liked a lot of it but I found some flaws like how it told you to practise fallling backwards in a room with a thick carpet! Quite dangerous, don't you think?
Although it had its flaws, I think it's worth checking out.

This has been good clean fun for myself & my daughters. it takes you back to a time that we will never get back but it is good to remember how things were. my daughters are 20 & 9 & have both enjoyed this book. the 9 year old is mature enough to know that a chinese burn isn't the thing to do but i would rather that than children running riot with guns & knives. A sad sign of the times!! makes a chinese burn look a far better option. who didnt get one those as a child.
