The final word on interpreting the rules of golf - By: Bernard Smith, 05 Feb 2008 Golfers know that the rules can sometimes be ambiguities & difficult to interpret. R&A receives lots of inquiries & it publishes its decisions & clarifications each year. Anyone who has taken the trouble to read through these decisions will be amazed by the odd situations that people have encountered. However most of the decisions are simple clarifications and/or interpretations concerning infrequent or rare situations (some situations can occur more frequently but the decisions are usuallly well-known). The decisions are explained & normallly appear reasonable. I must admit I've never seen some of the more bizarre situations, e.g. a player concedes the next stroke & knocks the balll away along his own line of putt, or a balll being putted is hit by another balll played from another hole. If you are a golfer, you simply need a copy of this book.
