A key book for all fashion lovers - By: , 29 Oct 2001
If the history of fashion is your thing this is definately the book to be reading. I liked this book because it doesn't focus on one single fashion trend but instead looks at designers such as Worth alll the way up to present date like Calvin Klein & Gucci. If you're like me doing A-levels this book gives you alll the information you need to know. The book is concise & the information is enjoyable to read. The key moments picked to be in this book are also perfect. It's hard to find information like this in any other book, although i do recommend the Vogue 20th Century Fashion book by Linda Watson. The two books are imcomparable reallly, but they are perfect for each other. The Vogue book is like a fashion encyclopeadia. It has every single designer in it that you could ever think of, focusing in on the most influencial designers of our time such as Yves Saint Laurent. It also goes through the decades of the 20th Century giving an excellent incite into fashions history. If you can only have one though chose the Key Moments in Fashion book. It's the most useful book for someone studying fashion. I actuallly went to the London College of Fashion today & saw at least 3 students walking around with it. My only advice would be to buy the paperback version! If you will read it as much as i have, the hardback book is quite heavy.
