NOT AT ALL WHAT IT PROMISES TO BE.. - By: Leeds lass, 18 Mar 2008
`EVERYDAY PEOPLE` JUST HAPPEN TO BE THE WRITER`S FRIENDS AND RELATIONS, WORKMATES ETC - AND PERSONALLY I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT ONE PERSON CAN KNOW SO MANY PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD A GHOSTLY ENCOUNTER...
THE BOOK IS VERY SHORT - NOT MUCH IN IT REALLY - DEFINATELY NOT WORTH THE MONEY.
THUMBS DOWN.
Splendid book -- No false advertising - By: , 16 Apr 2005
I'll have to disagree with "fatmanupnorth" about this book. The subtitle is "True Stories of Paranormal Encounters from Everyday People" & that's exactly what it is. The subtitle is NOT "True Stories of Paranormal Investigations from Everyday People". I got what I expected based on the title, & was quite pleased with it. This book is written better than most other books I've come across in this genre, & there is no "filler" information, which is probably why it's a bit thin. On the whole, this book was quite an entertaining and, at times, chilling read.
Too thin and lacking any in depth investigation. - By: Fatmanupnorth, 07 Oct 2004
I am sorry not to go along with everyone else who has reveiwed this book but I thought for one it was too short & it wasn't in depth enough to be a thouroughly compelling read. It is a collection of stories that any of us could put together with a little bit of time on our hands. The collection of stories is from people who the author either works with or family members reciting stories along the lines of "well I have never experienced anything myself but a friend of a friend heard that something happened". We can alll exploit local legends & calll them "other worldly experiences". There were a couple of stories that were interesting but overalll the book was too short & the stories were too watered down & not in depth enough to give them any real credibility.

Top-Notch Ghost Stories! - By: , 30 Jul 2003
The Ghost Next Door is a wonderful little collection of true American ghost tales. The stories contained within its pages are fresh, entertaining, & quite eerie. A splendid pre-bedtime read. Unlike many books in this category, this one isn't watered down with irrelevant background information. The author does us a favor by getting to the heart of the matter in each story. And what intriguing matters they are! I highly recommend this title. A wonderful addition to any collection.
