Think yourself thin! - By: Mrs. W. Harrison, 13 May 2008
I'm a great fan of Paul Mckenna & find his hypnosis techniques reallly do work. I believe that most people are overweight because they've forgotten how to eat - i.e. eat when you're hungry & stop eating when you're full. Many people overeat for emotional reasons, or as a result of strict dieting - which doesn't reallly encourage you to listen to what your body wants. This book helps you to re-learn those skills & lose weight, without dieting. However, I think the title of the book should be 'Think Yourself Thin' - as you still have to be committed to listening to the CD & following the principles - Paul can't do that for you!
I would recommend this book to anyone who's had enough of dieting & simply wants to re-learn how to eat in response to hunger.

Can reading this book make you thin? - By: Elizabeth Taylor, 21 Apr 2008
This book claims that it will change your relationship with food & that will ultimately make you thin but of course we alll know is that eating less & excercising more will make you thin not reading a book so whats this guys silver bullet. The point is I think that part of loosing weight is about determing the reasons why you are doing it & making sure that you can sustain that weight loss. My doctor told me that less than 10% of people who loose weight keep it off so its true that the long term solution is as important as the hunger pangs & gym time. The two main aspects of the plan are firstly only eat when you are hungry & secondly positive thinking & reinforcement of positive messages - which I found the most interesting as it encourages you to turn any negative idea or thought into something positive so mental as well as physical gymnastics. The book itself contains 90 pages & on the left hand side there is a daily idea from our mentor, for example, taking the time to think positively about some part of yourself. On the right hand side is a daily checklist & space to put in some comments to two questions a) One positive thing I noticed today & b) What I'm looking forward to tomorrow. The checklist asks if you have if you have moved your body, drank lots of water, eaten only when you are hungry, looked in the mirror & thought about how great you. The second key to this plan or idea is only eat what you want & only eat when you are hungry. The idea being not to enter into a negative cycle of deprevation but embracing what you like eating but only eat when you need to & as much as you need. All these ideas are great & important to long term success. I also find that writing in a journal & having checkpoints is a good way to keep on track. But whether any diet works is up to you not the author, so the book is a tool to help you as an overweight individual feel more positive about yourself, more committed to a diet & build a long term sustainable relationship with food. So did it work for me? well it helped me think about why I was dieting & the postiive thinking was a very good excercise which I much appreciated & I honestly did change some things in my relationship with food such as only eating at the table - not in front of the TV & to think about the enjoyment of food rather than using it as a comfort blanket & I started doing more sport - I do however admit that although I kept on the diet I gave up with the journal after around 1.5 months as the daily questions are the same but ever so often I go back & have a peek.
this is it! - By: Ms. Kelly Jennings, 16 Apr 2008
i loved this book & still love it. i was a size 12 & now a size 1o.i lost 2 stone & not too slowly. i wasnt fat but i was a overeater.i now no im at a weight thats obviously right for me. it look me a while not to question how little i was eating in comparison, but i dont question a thing now. i listen to my body i eat anything i want, pizza to vegtables.its so refreshing & if i go out for meal i eat only what i want & dont mind wasting food,as eating eat if not hungry is alot higher price to pay.i do tend to only order a main course & can have a steter after if still hungry. i feel great & free in my mind as im peacful with food, & in the begining i do have moments where i just wanted to eat for sake of it ,but i ask myself' why? ,what will this achieve>?.its great.it works i will never diet again.and as it is not a diet so if fits any situation, you dont have to worry that you may be under or overeating & so therefore its just natural
Easy reading for easy weightloss - By: Rosie T., 14 Apr 2008
I recieved this book on a Saturday & finished it within 2 hours. I found it to be very well written. It's easy to understand & easy to follow. As with everything - it takes some getting used too. My biggest change is having to eat slower. I eat fast but I will get there. I find the CD to be relaxing & easy to listen too as well. I don't have to worry about "banned" foods, counting, or skipping meals. This is such a simple plan that has such promise! Good luck to alll who read it & take the advise!
No, you can't - By: Self-help junkie, 29 Mar 2008
Sorry, Paul, but YOU can't make anyone anything. The title of your book is completely misleading & manipulates our desperation for a 'solution' to being overweight. There is none - apart from what we alll DON'T want to hear! Eat less, move more. The end.
