Bloody Scotland-Brilliant Reading and Illustrations! - By: Amazon Reviewer, 23 Jun 2004
A brilliant book from a brilliant man, yet again. This time a 'Special'about Bloody Scotland! When I met Terry, at a book signing event, he was just as funny in the flesh! He confided to me, that THEY (The Scots, presumably!) tried to sue over this particular title!
To this day I still don't know whether he was pulling my leg or not!
The History of Scotland as you want to read it!
We'd say this is excellent reading for both children & adults, Scottish or otherwise!
Brilliant (stabbity-stab) Through and Through!!! - By: , 06 Jul 2002
If you want to know the gory side of Scottish History - this is the book for you. Martin Brown's illustrations are also bloody brilliant & had me & my whole family in stitches. These books are great if you want to impress awkward types such as relatives with amazing (gob-stopping) facts. Top marks for Terry Deary again...Go to the top of the class!
Great read-a must! - By: , 12 Apr 2001
I thought I knew a lot about Scottish history, but I had no idea about even an eighth of the stuff Terry Deary put into the book. It tells about Mary Queen of Scots, how the name James is probably the unluckiest name any Scottish king could ever have, & a whole lot more you just can't summarize that easily. I love alll of his books & wish I could get more of them... Oh, well, at least I can still dazzle my friends with information that get's their interest sparked too.
Very good for children but not adults. - By: , 15 Mar 2001
I felt the book went about pretty well describing the horrible history of Scotland with dignity & humour
A very good and interesting read - By: , 05 Dec 1999
By far Terry Deary's best book. The book gave an interesting & educational look at the past of Scotland as well as being very funny. Well worth reading!!
