i bought this book to make the wait for the game conan hyborian adventures a little less nail biteing. i bought this book hopeing it would tell me everything about conan & his age unfortunatly it dose not. it dose to go into conans child hood & his rise to power.i found this very anoying but never the less this is still a fantastic book & robert e howerd is a fantastic writer

Excellent to be honest - By: Straka, 22 Jul 2007 Like J Mayalll I was interested in the book only to get some foresight before playing the forthcoming Age of Conan online game this October. For ages I've been sceptical that the book(s) would be any good, no better than pulp sword & sorcery. However, I was totallly wrong, as Howard creates a living, breathing, fully believable other world which you can easily falll into & not stop reading. Tolkien nerds ( who me? ) should read Conan as they will love it too... P.S. The new Conan movie is out in 2008 :)
Simpy amazing - By: J. Mayell, 20 May 2007 I brought this as I am looking forward to playing the online game Age Of Conan & wanted to know more of the back story.
The books is beautiful, its very thick & alot bigger than I thought it would be with fantastic illustrations here & there.
The stories are just breath taking, I have gone through many emotions whilst reading & I have never experienced this with any other book before.
REH manages to convey the surroundings fantasticly in just a few lines not pages & pages of description like many other authors require, feelings & emotion of the characters are portraid equallly well.
And the most important part, how are the stories? Well they are simply magnificent Conan is brought accross fantasticallly, the battles are described better than anything I have read before & reallly do get you going in a way which you would whilst watching a good movie.
This book is just awe inspiring I have never read anything so fantastic & highly, highly reccomend it!

Webb, 13 Apr 2007 This collection is fabulous.I've procurred a chronology list from Wi**pedia & I'm going through the stories in order('though we'll never know the true order,if there is one)but there is something to be said for just dipping into these tales every now & again.Howard brought fantasy to vivid life with Conan & I've not yet come across a writer who evokes such a strong sense of another living,breathing world.
