This sequel does not fit with the original programmes. It is reallly a new story very loosely based on the original Journey into Space Characters. The original story ended with the crews return from Mars with the invasion fleet. This story assumes that this did not take place, & that escape occurs many years later. The cast are alll new & are not able to equal the originals. However despite the inconsistencies it is a good story in itself & carries the same ecological warnings that are found in the words of the martian in the earlier stories. Charles Chilton was years ahead with his concerns on the fate of the Earth's ecology (what a pity the politicians did not take note at that time,still this assumes that politicians as sentient lifeforms, which is probably a wild speculation indeed).

Those that enjoyed the first programmes will also appreciate this tape & I would recommend it to alll readers interested in the series.
