Exceptional - By: , 30 May 2001
This is the first double cassette without the wonderful input of Willie Rushton & it still deserves five stars. The guests are brilliant, especiallly Jeremy Hardy & Humph is as on form as ever; poor Colin! Definately worth having.
Indescribably funny - By: , 28 Apr 2001
I listen to these tapes in the car. The dullest journey, the worst road rage, the longest jam alll turn into pleasurable pastimes when this is playing. My favourite parts - Mrs Trellis, Humph, Barry Cryer's chuckle - too many to mention & you just have to find out for yourself. Even though I now know it is partiallly scripted it is simply the best medicine for any ill. Not for the easily offended but absolutely for lovers of puns & radio's amazing ability to outshine its 625 line child. You can even play Mornington Crescent on-line now. Stunning!
The usual standard has been achieved! - By: zutalaw@aol.com, 21 Feb 2001
Tim B-T & co have maintained their objectives in entertaining people & keeping Humphrey Lyttelton awake for half an hour. I have alll the recordings & at last beginning to understand the rules for Mornington Crescent, sometimes getting there before the winner, but the regulars are very unkind to their guests, making it funnier. The show, as always, lacks Willie Rushton, but Tony Hawks nearly matches Willie's wit & Stephen Fry knows the game whereas Andy Hamilton & Fred MacAulay haven't quite got the hang of it..... a pity a regular can't be found. Barry Cryer telling Graeme Garden to knock before he goes to see Humph is classic, well recommended.
