Suenos Spanish 1 language pack - By: , 08 Feb 2005
Found this pack reallly useful. It has helped me to get started on spanish & I have found the book gives interesting information about life in Spain/South American. Answers are alll in the back so think this is a good pack if you want to start learning Spanish without a class.
A good basic understanding!!! - By: , 05 Feb 2004
I've also got the Linguaphone All Talk Spanish, & as another reviewer said, it's ok if you like being patronised! Suenos on the other hand starts from the basics. It teaches you like you're taught at school with greetings, name exchanges, where you live, & graduallly progresses through more complicated scenarios, but alll in alll is fairly good. Unfortunately, learning from these courses doesn't help with pronunciation problems!
Suenos World Spanish: Course Book. - By: Karen Dods, 03 Feb 2004
An excellent course for anyone wanting to learn the basics of the Spanish language . Very easy to follow & concentrates on subjects that are useful to a visitor to Spain , rather than the usual format of language courses
Pity About The Sound Track.... - By: , 31 Mar 2003
I would agree with the other reviews here, in that the book is well ordered, & material is presented in an attractive manner.
However, I personallly feel that the material is let down by the poor quality of the accompanying CD's & tapes. They attempt to use 'real' people; I realise that there is an argument for this, but most beginners will find that the language is being spoken too quickly to take in, & what is worse, is hard to hear due to poor sound quality & background noise (such as children playing).
I have found tapes accompanying other books far easier to follow from a beginner point of view.
Excellent self-teaching material - By: karan_2000@yahoo.com, 21 Jun 2001
I've been using the book & cassette for just 30 minutes a day for the past fortnight & I have learnt so much, it's unbelievable. My pronunciation in Spanish is better than my French & I've had classroom teaching in French for 2 years. You can work at your own pace. The only thing is that I find the book a little confusing giving various interpretations for Spain, South Spain & Latin America. I can't always remember them alll. Otherwise, excellent stuff!
