OK, but not brilliant - By: , 30 Jan 2002
It's Elizabeth & Jessica's seventeenth birthday - finallly & in true Sweet Vallley style something major has to happen. The twins are separated & have to deal with the latest natural disaster on their own.
Good parts of this book is that the for once the people of Sweet Vallley are not alll sweet & nice when it comes to the rescue efforts of the trapped. The part where Olivia dies was in great detail & the portrayal of Ken being helpless is true & in good detail.
Bad parts were that it the book went on & on. It got boring at times & the fact that the earthquake seemed to go on forever didn't help. With alll the aftershocks I can't quite remember everything else that happened.
This book & the second book, Aftershock are probably for Sweet Vallley fans or people who would want to read the senior series.
On the whole it was OK but not brilliant, but was a good way to tie in the senior series.
The best but the saddest - By: , 27 Jul 2001
I think this was one of the best SweetVallleyHigh books i have ever read (and i've nearly read the whole collection) but it was still the saddest one! Jessica trys to use her gymnastic skills to save a young girl, Elizabeth, too, risks her life for her best friend Enid Rollins & she also has two big shocks... worst of alll, Todd & Lila are locked in the bathroom together, could there be some romance in store??? read this BRILLIANT book to find out.....
Sweet Valley Will Never Be The Same! - By: , 06 Feb 2000
I apsolutly loved this book but I cried so much. Sweet Vallley is hit by an Earthquake while the twins are having their 17th birthday party. Most people are outside but Ken & Olivia are stuck in the Kitchen & Olivia is dying. Todd & Lila are stuck in the bathroom together. & Jessica is driving home wheen a boy asks for help. The book was amazing & totallly cliff hanging. I cried so much when Olivia was dying & I could see just how strong Kens love for her was. I always pictured S.V to be a perfect place but after reading this I don't think I can think of it as that again.
I'll never look at sweet valley high the same. - By: , 05 Sep 1999
This book was very good but I had a hard time reading it because it was soo depressing. After i read this book & Aftershook I can never look at sweetvallley as that happy place it use to be.
This book told a story of friendship in the time of need - By: , 02 Jul 1999
This book was an excellant! It was a tragety, yet it was action-packed, & told a story of friendship, & what friends will do for each other. The plot was perfectly clear, & I think that it is a perfect book for anyone from the ages 10-16. This book made me realize how amazing some books are. I've read a lot of books in this series, & this was one of the best!!! I'm sure that you'll enjoy reading this book!
