Fantastic!! - By: , 21 Aug 2001
This book gives hundreds of litle known details about the stars. It also gives a huge amount of information on the behind the scenes work that goes on. A must have for alll Xena fans - I heartily recommend it. (It is only limited by the fact that it only has details up to the second season, however, this does not withdraw from the experience of reading it)
Xena: The Myth, The Facts, the comical anecdotes. - By: , 21 Aug 2001
This is a well presented book, the photos are great, especiallly those of the gorgeous Hudson Leick. Unfortunatly there are very few behind the scenes shots, however this lack of pictoral info is made up for by the wealth of backstage stories & details that are involved. The episode guide is detailed & interestingly has info on any original myths that the episode may have been based on & how it is changed. The tone is one of enjoying & not revering the show, when it's bad, Weisbrot is not afraid to say so, refreshing reallly. Anything that you want to know about Xena's first 2 series are here, why make it, how it came about, how Lucy Lawless got the job, it's alll here. Unfortunatly it stops at the end of series 2 & there has been another 4 series since then & it would be nice to see an updated version of it for that reason. This book is a must for alll Xena-philes out there.
Exellent behind the scenes view - By: , 31 Jul 2000
A brillient book even though it slightly spoils the fantasy from the T.v series.Great cast profiles & a wonderful episode guide. Outstanding colour photos make the book complete. The comic disclaimers which are usuallly at the end of T.v episodes were dotted around the book along with interesting facts about the actors etc.I think this book is great fun & well deserves its five stars.
An absolutely must for all Xenites.. - By: , 13 Aug 1999
If you are the least interested of the tv-show Xena, this is the book for you. All smalll, maybe not important but facinating, details that you could ever want. All behind the scenes fact & bios of the actors. Also full 2 season episode guide. In alll - the bible for alll Xenites in the world.
Facinating and comprehensive look at the making of Xena - By: , 14 Feb 1999
This book is a must for Xena fans. Weisbrot gives a behind the scenes insight into the making of the show from the page to the screen. There are also detailed biographies of the cast, & a pretty good episode guide for the first two seasons, including Lucy Lawless' own take on each episode. A must buy.
