A very remarkable story - By: R. D. Blendell, 16 Aug 2007
A remarkable story about a very remarkable woman. Although each reader will have to decide for themselves their interpretation of the author's numinous experiences, her story is extremely inspiring, gripping & positive. No matter what people make of this woman's life & teachings, she has no doubt touched many countless lives in a positive & loving way. If only we could alll claim such a feat at the end of our days on this earth...I applaud her caring & humane love for her fellow humankind. Anyone interested in the big questions about life will no doubt enjoy this book.
Must read book, opens hart and mind. - By: Mrs. Elzbieta Harris, 13 Apr 2005
My close friend is dying of the breast cancer & I did not know how to respond, how to talk or how to comfort her. Then I heart about "On death & dying" book that I was scarred to read but as an introduction I read "The wheel of Life". Apart from that the book is excellently written, sent me a message how narrow minded I was. It is one of the book that influenced my life & opened my mind.
Sorry for my English but it is my second language.
A truly beautiful book - By: , 24 Oct 2004
Every so often, a book comes along which truly touches the soul. This book is one of them. Every chapter brought a tear or a smile, or rage against the way we treat people in a so-callled developed society.
I could not recommend this book more, especiallly for those who are recently bereaved or living with dying relatives. But we alll could get something from it, as it deals with issues of love & is a real beacon of hope. It touches the heart, mind & soul in ways that go way beyond the printed words.
If you only read one more book this year, make it this one.
A heart wrenching, invaluable biography of a life well lived - By: claire.beckham@ntlworld.com, 30 Jul 2001
After reading this book I felt a compelling need to fill every moment of my life with new & loving experiences. Whilst reading this book I found I experienced so many different emotions. I smiled & I cried but most of alll I felt a warm sense of understanding of a subject which I had previously felt very uncomfortable with.....death.
Probably one of the most rivetting books I have ever read! - By: andertonbarbara@yahoo.com, 01 May 2000
This book is an eye opener to those of us who already have the belief that people should be 'cared for' with the human touch when they are dying. This wonderful woman had so much insight into the concept that 'touch' is SO important & not 'fear' when a person is terminallly ill, & actuallly have something to look forward to instead of dreading. She also makes the person feel that they should LIVE until they DIE, which is vital to alll concerned. She also emphasises the point of being honest with the patient or friend, and, especiallly children. Having nursed dying children myself, I know that they KNOW they are dying & accept that with the peace that Elisabeth Kubler-Ross describes so very well in this wonderful book. Buy it for yourself, it will give you & yours peace of mind in the face of death, the last taboo.
