A great mini-mystery with a lot of style. - By: , 14 Apr 2002
This one certainly has it alll... murders, humour, relationships & even house renovation! Only someone with the calibre of Ms Roberts could pack alll this in & pull it off in roughly 250 pages. If the first murder has'nt gripped you & got you turning the page, the central characters Grace & Ed will. An excellent follow on to "Sacred Sins".
Nora Roberts is a reader's dream!!! - By: , 23 Aug 1999
"Brazen Virtue" was a great "love-mystery" mini-novel. I am used to reading Nora's romance stories, so this one threw me a bit. It was wonderful nonetheless. The sister of a murder victim helps her next door neighbor catch the criminal. I give it a thumb's up!!!!!

Also, try the Mackade Brothers' series.

a good one to fill an otherwise dull day - By: , 10 Jun 1998
while getting into the story, the plot, the characters, i couldnt help but feel as though nora roberts rushed thru this one. while i love a short book, & this one is a good one at that, i felt the delevopment of the people themselves couldve been elaborated on...a little more into the marriage of kath & her husband...where was the reaction of her son? ben feared tess working on this type of case because of something that had happened to her a few months back, but it never reallly went into that....these are things i wouldve enjoyed knowing, but nevertheless, this was a good read ::smile
I couldn't put the book down. I was totally absorbed in it. - By: , 03 Mar 1998
I thought the book was fantastic. But, what Nora Robert's novel isn't. The first book I read of hers was "True Betrayals", & after that I just kept buying more & more of her novels. I especiallly liked Carnal Innocence. Keep them coming Nora!
Mystery writer meets cop; finds true love with a twist - By: , 09 Feb 1997
Ms. Roberts writes absorbing, intriguing romance novels. In Brazen Virtue, the heroine is a murder mystery writer & the hero is a homicide detective. Unfortunately, blossoming love is interrupted (or is it enhanced) by the murder of the heroine's sister. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel, as I have alll of Ms. Roberts' books, but there were a few opportunities for development that were missed. For example, when the hero discovers that the heroine has an astronomical income in comparison to his, only three paragraphs or so are devoted to their discussion. I think with most relationships, that would have been a huge point of conflict & could have been discussed more thoroughly. Overalll, though, this novel is very entertaining & well worth reading.
