Top Stuff - By: , 14 Aug 1999
This is the best Superhero book or comic I have ever read at the moment. I has a great story line & is a must for any comic/Superman fan. I even found my self almost crying at points.
One thing I would have liked to have seen was what happened after the end when Superman went after the other Supermen. If this is continued in another novel please some one let me know.
THE ONE for Superman Fans! - By: , 05 Aug 1999
Definately a great read to satisfy those super-cravings for action. Even if you weren't a fan of superman's legacy before, you will be after reading this incredible novel. A fifth of this book covers the history & origins of Superman, which no one can get tired of knowing again. The enjoyment of reading this novel is equal when compared with the action packed comics, & does justice to Superman's name.
SIMPLY THE BEST! - By: , 23 Jul 1999
Roger Stern has brought out the best in Superman. Instead of pictures, he uses words to describe the Man of Steel's death. I read the anthology of Superman's seath & life first, & I feel that Stern could not have written this book any better. The detail is exploding, & the action with drama is non-stop. Probably one of the best books I have ever read in my lifetime!!!! This book will shock & stun the shoes right off of Superman lovers!
Enjoyable Light Reading - By: , 10 Apr 1999
This book takes the saga of "The Death of Superman", "Funeral for a Friend", "Reign of the Supermen", & "The Return of Superman", which appeared in comic book form in the mid 80's, & turns it to light reading.
The story starts slow, does not have the "punch" of the comic book stories, but picks up pace towards the end. I was a bit disappointed because it seemed to me that the author just looked at the pictures of the comic books, & turned them into words, without adding any new insight.
The best comic based novel - By: , 09 Apr 1999
This is one of the best comics based novels there is. I have followed Superman comics since he died in '93. It followed the story to the T. I enjoyed reading it, & I continue to enjoy it every time I read it.
