Very realistic, humane, Joanna Trollope writes about the real world, about real people. I am not sure if this is one of her best novels but I enjoyed reading it, I would recommend it to other JT fans!!

Reading this book was like watching a reallly good television drama unfold. Joanna Trollope creates completely realistic, believable characters who you can't help caring about.
I sat up alll night reading this book because I had to know how the various situations the characters found themselves in resolved. This book is mostly about relationships, some are breaking down, some are just forming & others are on hold, but somehow it makes compelling reading. A hugely readable & likeable book.
My favourite Trollope novel so far - By: , 20 Sep 2001 I have read alll of Trollope's novels & this is my firm favourite. I especiallly love the characters of James & Josh. Beatrice & Leonard's interchanges are humorous & feisty & I cared so much about the characters that I missed them when I finished the book. I have read this three times & its still my favourite. Where can I find a man like James?

However you are soon drawn in to the lives of the characters & care very much what happens to them. I couldnt wait to pick the book up to read it & feel bereft that it is now finished. I want to hear more about the characters! An excellent read.
