jenni Murray is a fascinating character & has lived through big social changes so I could have done with more detail of the 1960s & a way of life that has now vanished. An unusual relationship with her parents was well described but is this an autobiography or is that coming? (Alan Bennett has written about his parents & their generation in a much fuller & literary way.) There is a lot of heavy subject matter packed in here,childbirth,cancer,care of the elderly,contraception,- some painful reading & she has struggled with many complex issues over the years but too many for this short book to cover properly. For example the ladies in the fish packing plant obviously influenced her feminism greatly so I think we should have had much more detail about them & maybe some of the kind of dialogue that might have gone on between them. An interesting read.
