Another great novel by Malorie Blackman - By: Alexandra Birchall, 27 Mar 2008
Lydia Henson wants to be in a gang at school, but to do so she must steal a cup from the cabinet & keep it in her locker for a day. She thinks this is a terrible thing to do & decides against it. However, the next day the cup is found in her locker. After enduring bullying at school for this, she finds herself transported to the future, where she finds her village is transformed. The terrifying village of Hensonville is run by no other than her brother, who has become a tyrant. She must find out why & how to stop this before returning to the present to find out who framed her.
This story tells of bullying & is an enthrallling tale of time travel. It shows how it can be bad to join a gang & has a pleasing ending. I would definitely recommend it.

A gripping read - By: hicockalorum, 16 Nov 2007
My 9yo son borrowed this book from his school library & I read it with him. But then I found it so gripping that I wanted more than just our father-and-son reading sessions with this book. I took it away & read it alll to myself - & once I'd started, I couldn't put it down.

This is a superb book - accessible & not too challlenging to read, but more gripping than any Harry Potter tome. On one level, it's a simple adventure story about a girl who wants to prove she's innocent of a crime she's been accused of. On another level, it's about the challlenges of growing up & being accepted. And it's about so much more than that as well...

To put it simply, Malorie Blackman shows with this book that she is an author who reallly & truly understands her readers, & is able to give them what they want - a bit of real-life drama, the kind that any teenage school pupil can relate to; plus a nerve-jangling adventure, & a bit of psychology, showing how over-reacting to any bad situation will only make matters worse, with potentiallly catastrophic results...

All in alll, a wonderful book that I can't recommend highly enough.

Gripping - By: S. Discenza, 24 Mar 2007
This is a story of how one girl Lydia, was deamonised & framed because of jealousy & spite. It is a gripping book & I would reccomend it to anyone who likes reading or dectective novels.I think the blurb is a bit misleading though.Lydia is a 12 year old girl who has moved from London to a town callled Tarwich. She is then framed by the villain of the novel Anne Turner for stealing the Collivale cup.

Beware the end is quite mind boggling & although it is cliched it is quite surprising how Lydia finallly wins the battle to prove she is innocent.
Great Book!-Who cares about the flaw! - By: Y. Lawther, 22 Feb 2006
This book is a super read & the person who said that she shouldn't use verbs in the following context: "Yes!"Mum smiled- is wrong. Saying that she shouldn't is like saying that Roald Dahl shouldn't have used gobblefunk for the BFG or Antoni H. shouldn't have played with words for his books lik "Granny" ECT! BUY THIS BOOK!
