A Beautiful Book. - By: S. Finlayson, 17 Jul 2008
One of the best books I have ever read. A very worthwhile read, stick with it.
brilliant! - By: 13_jane, 17 Jul 2006
Having not read a Danielle Steel for about 10 years I was amazed that she has not lost her touch!

The book is set in San Fran & shows that even if you're husband leaves you after 20 years of marriage, you can still carry on.

A great book that I would advise anyone to read - its definatley an alll-nighter!! So only start on a Friday night if you work Monday - Friday - as you wont get a wink of sleep!! hehe!!!

Have sneered a bit at Danielle Steel in the past, but apologies!

This reallly does take you into the heart of what it's like when a dearly loved & apparently loving husband of many years tells you he's decided he'd prefer someone else now, thank you very much.

The shock, the numbness, the disbelief, the 'what on earth did I do wrong?' & 'how on earth can I not have seen this coming?' & the gradual building of a new life & discovering you were stronger than you thought.

As good as it gets... - By: , 05 Jul 2004
I had heard that Danielle Steel was very popular, & had written over 60 books. This was the first one of hers that I have read, & I must say, it was very good!

Paris had a seemingly perfect marriage until her husband, Peter, drops a bombshell on her. He is going to leave her for his 31 year old secretary.

As you may expect, Paris is a tad upset, & some of the book is devoted to recovery. Having said that, it was sensitively done, & I was surprised to find that Paris was not callling him alll the names under the sun. This book is cleverly written.
The plot divides into several branches - it follows the lives of her son, her daughter, her exhusband, her friends, her work, & most importantly, her love life!

The dating game manages to provide wit, yet without being unsensitive & unrealistic. A great read!

DATING GAME - By: , 01 Apr 2004
A very heart warming book. On the back cover it states that it is "wickedly funny", I didn't think it was. If you liked Francesca's Party, by Patricia Scanlan, then you will like this. I found many similarities between the story lines. One of the things I did like about it, is that the ending was not predictable. Definitely worth a read.
