Hard Frost - hard to take - By: V. A. Aitken, 11 Oct 2008
I bought this book after having seen David Jason as Frost on TV. I was shocked & offended at the sexist language & attitude to women in the written text. Frost on TV is bumbling, kind & amusing. The character I found in the book was uncouth, illmannered, sexist & thoroughly unpleasant.
I won't be trying another book in this series.

Highly entertaining with a memorably cunning misdirection in the main child kidnapping case but the other cases swirling around are also infused with imagination & character. Jack Frost's mind operates only on crime & his groin but his crudeness is skilfully balanced with his persistence & humanity. This book formed the basis for Season 5 Episode 1 of the ITV David Jason series "A Touch of Frost."
David Jason is Jack Frost - By: , 29 Apr 2001
Ex comedian David Jason has got the audio picture of this down at heel detective off to perfection. As usual this is a multi-plot story that unwinds slowly, twisting in its usualll manner. David Jason makes Mr Frost a nicer figure than in the book, & the plot is far deeper than the TV presentation. For those who like audio books, David Jasons, addaptation is a must.
This is my favourite book in the Frost series. - By: , 06 Apr 2001
Offensive but very funny, Jack Frost is a brilliant character. This book is unputdownable. Much better than the televised series. I cant wait for the next one.
