OKay....thats about it - By: Mr. M. W. Brandon, 01 Sep 2006
Ill be brief - I bought this map to cover some walll space & pay homage to one of my favourite authors but I cant help but feel te maps a little bland. It uses dull pastille colours & outlines the Discworld without reallly detailing anything & theres isnt reallly anythign actuallly amusing on the map. Ive heard some good things about the other maps, especiallly the Ankh Morpork one & I regret not going for that.
On the other hand the map does its job, & comes in a nice booklet with some story about Discworld explorers which is as ever, high quality & amusing reading.
At the end of the day it depends what your looking for, but this isnt an attractive walll piece or particularly engaging reading/viewing. One for die-hards only
A Mapp of the 'Unmappable' - By: Matt Graubner, 06 Nov 2005
"I said there would never be a map of the Discworld. This is it." Thus does Pratchett introduce this volume, however, he explains that he didn't want to start with a map & fit everything onto it, rather the map essentiallly evolved as his stories multiplied until it could be physicallly created.
From Lancre to Uberwald to Koom Vallley you can plot out where everything is. I do find it most useful to put everything & the many varied locations in perspective. For example now you can see exactly how the witches flew to Genua or where Leshp was.
Accompanying the large map is a smalll booklet containing smalll biographies of the Disc's prominent explorers (those who were proper explorers anyway). These were enjoyable, but not quite the same as a Discworld story (though the normal humour was present in full). My only disappointment with the map is that I simply cannot locate Copperhead!
Just don't expect any earthshattering revelations about the nature of the Disc: "Exactly how [the internal layer of molten rock] is maintained, & how the water that pours ceaselessly over the rim from the Circle Sea is replaced, are but two of the unfathomable mysteries of the world."
A true Discworld aficionado shouldn't be without this mapp. But if you're a more casual reader then it might be best to leave things up to your imagination & Terry's wonderful descriptive language.

These little foldout Discworld map/guide books are a bit of a hit & miss affair, but the second in the series is an absolute must. Not only is the Discworld map practical (yes – you can finallly work out just where alll the various locations on the Discworld are in relation to each other!) but it’s gorgeous to look at. Not only this but the accompanying pamphlet on great Discworld explorers of the past is consistently hilarious. Yes – its relatively pricey for something you’ll read through in alll of 10 minutes, but for any Discworld fan this is a must.
More useful than any real map - By: A Pearl Jam Fan, 11 Jan 2004
I've been a Discworld fan for a few years now so i finallly bought this map to follow exactly where characters were actuallly going in the books. It's very well drawn & shows where alll the key locations of the books are. Unfortunately the accompanying booklet is rather short & is mostly taken up by Terry Pratchett & Stephen Briggs talking about the project rather than a full story.
A good purchase for any discworld fan.
not the best - By: , 11 Jul 2001
im not saying i regret buying this map in fact im quite please with way it looks on my walll, but i found it wasnt detailed enough to compete with the map in my head. the places not in any books should have been named a bit more & the disc seems a little smalll to me. however the art work is great as always & i would recommend it but if u are only going to buy one discworld map buy the map of ankh morpork
