Family Saga - By: Daniel Rampton, 18 Jul 2006
I have read alll of the 17 Adams Family Books straight through from 1 to 17 twice, & await the next one in September. I had already read some of the books but felt I should read them straight through, then you get reallly into the family. Our Emily
deals with a very scruffy little girl who fell madly in love with Boots Adams. When you read these books as surely you will, you not only get to know the family, but the times they lived through 1900-1950's. Dare I say the only criticism I have however is that Mary Jane Staples, seems to imagine the Adams family were Cockney. The Adams family lived South London, The true cockney lived in Bow on the other side of the river Thames. But let not this put you off of what are a very good read.
Second series in a great series - By: M. E. Newell, 25 Oct 2004
"Our Emily" by Mary Jane Staples is the second book in a great series. Much of this book focus on the marriage of Boots Adams to Emily. The beginning of the marriage is hard for the young couple due to Boots still being blinded from the war. But with the coming the 1920's, there is great change coming to the whole Adams family.
This is a great book & a great series. Ms. Staples creates great characters that make the reader want to know more for them. The Adams series should not be missed.
