The first of the Adams series. This is a reallly engrossing story. Set in the early 1900's. It follows a mother & her 4 young children as they become adults. Very entertaining. You can't wait to find out who enlists in the first world war & who fallls in love.
Down Lambeth Way - By: M. Hargreaves, 18 Aug 2006 This was the first book in the Adams Family series, (which now is almost up to the present time). It got me well & truly hooked & I am eagerly awaiting A Soldier's Girl, to find out how it alll started. I have also read alll of Mary Jane Staples' other books & find them alll equallly enthrallling. I have also pre-ordered her next offering - the lady cannot write fast enough for me!!
Excellent beginning to a great series - By: M. E. Newell, 21 Oct 2004 "Down Lambeth Way" by Mary Jane Staples is the first book in the "Adams series" was a great book. Ms. Staples did an excellent as she told the story of the Adams family who, at the turn of the century are living in London. The Adams are a loving family who are able to get though the tough times even if it means a trip to the pawnman.
This was a great book! Ms. Staples has created great characters that are able to hold the reader's interest. Can't wait to read more of the Adams family.
