This is one of those heady brews Zelazny was so good at earlier on in his career, rich with amazing ideas & throw away humour. Like 'Isle of the Dead,' 'Creatures of Light & Darkness,' & 'Lord of Light' it's a combination of fantasy & science-fiction elements, of the type that no-one else does nearly so well. It's no weighty meaningful tome, but it's great fun & a real example of the kind of stuff Zelazny could do at his best. If, like me, you've read his stuff & asked "How the hell does he think this stuff up?" then this book will add depth & richness to your perplexity.
There should be torchlit processions of baying villagers to the doors of publishing houses everywhere, demanding the reprint of this book. Mr. Zelazny has left nothing finer: unique & weird & anazing. If you find a copy, buy it.
