The best one! - By: , 28 Jul 2003
This was the first C.Feehan book that i read & i was not dissapointed! i loved the characters,Nicoletta has an endearing innocence about her yet is still a very strong & likable character, not soppy at alll. And Giovanni! he was the stuff of dreams!
I enjoyed this book so much that i went & ordered some of her DARK series & i have to say i was sadly disapointed. I have read up to number five in the series only because i wanted to read Gregories story, & because i was hopeing that they'de get better. I'm ashamed to say that for me, they didnt. the female characters were just to similar- alll toooo independent, alll toooo resistant. I dont want to put anyone off buying any of C.Feehans books because she is a great storyteller & i am only one oppinion! But i just wish that more of her books could have followed the brilliance of this story.
Very Disappointed - By: , 12 Feb 2002
I am sorry to say that I was very disappointed with this book. I have, up until now, been a fan of Christine Feehan, especiallly here 'Dark series'. Her books are usuallly well written & the characters engaging but the Scarletti Curse feels disjointed & you don't reallly have an opportunity to get to know the characters especiallly the hero. The story line is disjointed & doesn't flow easily & their are far too many Italian words thrown in which leaves you feeling that Ms Feehan is trying to cover up this awkward story. For the first time ever it took me two weeks to finish a Christine Feehan book, & at one point I was tempted to give up. There are a lot of good ideas in the story but they are under developed leaving the plot & the characters two dimensional. And as for the twist at the end...if you still care half way through the book I have obviously missed something. By no means let this put you off reading any of her other books, which are excellent, this just proves that everyone has their off days.
Dreadful hard to believe it's the same Christine Feehan - By: , 31 Oct 2001
This is NOT a Carpathian book & I reallly don't recommend this one & I adore ALL her other books. It's bland, the heroine is wishy-washy & the hero & his odd & unappealing family just put the tin lid on it for me. I never finished it & lent it to a friend who didn't either. If you're desperate for more & have read alll the others try the short story in After Twilight that's nice.
A slow start but an exciting climax - By: J COFFMAN, 23 May 2001
I started this book with great expectations after reading alll the dark series but found it not as compelling as them to start with. It took me a while to get into the book. The story is slow to start with, but it develops into a very exciting climax. I never guessed the culprit & it was a complete surprise to me. I think I have been spoiled for anything else by the Dark Series & it will take a lot to compete with them. I would have given this book 5 stars if it hadn't been for the beginning. I love a book that grips me from the first page & holds me right through to the last.
Excellent Story - By: Susan Gould, 10 Apr 2001
Just as good as her Dark Series, this book has a bit of everything in it, Romance, Suspense, Terror. I enjoyed it very much & thought it well worth buying.
