Unique record of UK art history - By: My Experience, 29 Aug 2008
This is the definitive book of the definitive exhibition of Brit art. It contains iconic images & good texts, & is very attractively laid out with full page colour illustrations of the major works. If you are interested in contemporary British art, then this is a "must have" item.
if you dont know modern art, start here! - By: , 06 Mar 2006
this is a great book as it is art from the sensation exhibition. It has work from alll the leading british artists who kick started british art back in the early ninetys & gives you an alll round feel for what was going on at the time, people such as tracy emin, damien hurst, sarah lucas etc.
there is a short explanation of the artist & each piece at the back, not in depth.
Fantastic - By: , 06 Apr 2003
I went to the Sensations exhibition over six years ago & found it to be both shocking & exciting. The exhibition was initiallly aimed at shocking its viewers by doing things nobody had thought of before. As an artist myself, I found the exhibition to be reallly interesting & I learnt a lot from it. Beware, I would not recommend this book to the skweemish, vegetarians (it has cut up & mutilated animals) or to children as some pictures are very shocking & disturbing.
Years on I regreted not buying the book at the exhibition as I have learnt so much about so many artistic possibilities from the exhibition. I will say that this is one of the best exibitions I have been to & the book proudly shows this.
a book for all art enthusiasts - By: , 07 Dec 2000
