Good overview about technical analysis issues - By: Donald, 09 Dec 2007
This is a very good read for those interested in or involved with currency trading & who want to explore technical analysis in some detail but without getting an avalanche of details. The author manages, in my opinion, to find the right balance between overview & detail by introducing an overview of a variety of technical analysis methods & indicators & then moving on to discuss how they can be used in a trading set up.

Schlossberg is not holding back with his personal opinion on what works best for him & what he recommends to use, but at the same time he's keeping a certain degree of neutrality instead of just indoctrinating people with his mantra of what IS best. This is quite refreshing given the endless number of websites that aim to sell one 'get rich' method or edge, based on just one technical analysis approach.

The main reason that I only give 4 stars to the book is that, like so many other authors, Schlossberg occasionallly seems to forget that he's not just talking to insiders who know their trading jargon inside out. There are sub-sections where he will lose readers, or annoy them by forcing them to re-read parts several times, to reallly understand what he is saying. Don't get me wrong - there are some technical matters that are quite complicated & anybody who wants to trade should aim to fully comprehend these things or stay well clear from trading. However, I think that some editorial input could have suggested ways of putting things a bit more clearly.
A good book for the novice to intermediate - By: Charlie Fish, 13 Apr 2007
This book is easy reading for an intermediate learner. It's light on the basics of technical analysis. The content is focused mainly on technical analysis trading setups, as the book title would suggest, & steers clear of indepth history lessons of the forex market, choice of broker & detailed descriptions of fundemental analysis. I would best describe the book as an introduction to technical indicators used in charting analysis & potential profitable setups that are commonly used by technical traders. Although some content you might find for free on numerous www sites, such as the basics of candlestick charts & indicators like moving averages, this book shows you how to put these tools to use using examples from past price action of the market. Not sure if Boris has made his fortune yet, probably not that's why he's writing the book, but he is a well known authority on the subject. The author doesn't plug WWW.FXCM.COM either. I would recommend reading it to further your understanding of technical analysis.
