Work in Progress - By: AJ Massey, 23 Sep 2008
Over the past three years I must have spent a fortune on trading books, often with mixed emotions about what I've actuallly got from them. But this is the first time i've been left feeling reallly frustrated.

Why, because given the author's first-rate credentials & experience, you can't help feeling that it's been rushed & she was working to a publisher's strict deadline. Either that or she's not playing full-out & is keeping a lot in reserve. Either way, it's a case of what could have been rather than what is....

There's nothing wrong with the content per se - though I'd question the prominence given to detailed market history & fundamentals in a relatively slim (240pp) volume aimed at day trading. But too often you're left thinking "when will Lien get on with it" & offer up the kind of insight & advice that her credentials suggest she is capable of.

There are the odd glimmers of hope, useful advice on trade preparation & journal keeping, major currency profiles & correlations alll hint at untapped potential but sadly the book runs out of steam before it reallly ever gets going.

The lack of a "conclusion" or closing chapter also compounds the "work in progress" nature of the book. As does the lack of a references /further reading section - instead we're given several plugs for websites which Lien has a commercial interest in.

The second edition is out in December. Unless the second edition puts more meat on the bone, then my advice would be to view a purchase with considerable trepidation & limit your spending to a cheap used copy.
As an introduction to the world of FX this is the best book out there - By: N. Burgess, 13 Apr 2008
This book is an excellent guide to the complex world of currency trading. It gives some excellent explanations on the the world's major currencies, why they are the major currencies, how they correlate both to each other & to the money markets in general, & what factors drive currency values up & down.

It doesn't have a lot of technical analysis, if you are looking for TA tips on playing the FX markets then this isn't the book for you. But if you're looking for a book that de-mystifies the complexities of how the FX markets work, then this is an excellent choice.
Pretty Good - By: R. O. Cairns, 15 Jun 2006
This book is pretty good for people who are novice or intermediate traders. The book is a bit long on history, as most are, but does provide helpful strategies that are well explained. Whether you are a technical or fundamental trader, I would add this to your bookshelf.

AN INFORMATIVE READ Albert@Malik9117.fsbusiness.co.uk - By: albert malik, 07 Mar 2006
As a complete beginner to currency trading I found there was plenty of valuable information here. I would definitely add it to your reading list, some good chapters on when the markets are open around the world & an intersting chapter on correlations within currencies & a further important chapter on looking at the gold price as a means of following some currency prices was very important to learn & know.
