The information in this book is out-of-date. - By: , 31 Jul 1999
Even though this is the revised edition, I have been told by professionals in the children's book industry that the information I got from this book is out-of-date & incorrect.
A must-read - By: , 24 Mar 1998
After reading this concise & highly informative guide on how to break into the children's book market, I immediately sought online tutoring from this frank & knowledgeable author-editor in one of her AOL classes. In ten words or less: if you want to get published, first go to Barbara.

I'd like to recommend this book to writers of alll children's genres. Ms. Seulings online classes & this book have inspired me get my stories onto paper & out to the editors. To me, this is what being a writer of children's literature is alll about.
Wonderful, practical, inspiring! - By: , 21 Mar 1998
Gave me the courage to think a good story. Taught me the basics of good writing. Showed me how to complete & sell a picture book. Excellent!
A difficult format made easy to understand. - By: , 20 Mar 1998
Picture Book format is spacific & definate. This book takes it one step at a time from the begining of an idea to the finished "dummy". You say you don't know what a dummy book is? A PB story outline? Need work on characters? Want an idea on the proper pacing? Setting, Dialogue? Language for kids? Structure, rhythm,
mood, tone? This book answered alll my questions & more. By the time I finished with it I felt confident enough to submit my work to an editor.. The author, multi-published, whos books I read to my children when they were young, was exceptionallly generous with her secrets.
The price was an inexpensive ticket to my future. I highly recommend for writers of alll children's genre.
