Recommended for managing and developing Sharepoint sites - By: W. Forrow, 24 Mar 2008
Strongly recommended! This book will show you how to use the incredible 'out of the box' capabilities of Sharepoint to make web sites to structure & display information without programming. This book is NOT about programming web parts or components - in fact you don't need to be a programmer at alll.

The book is very well written & gives STRUCTURED ADVICE on where to start, & how to choose between the many options. It is NOT just a useless duplication of the Help screens you already have, like some books. It covers smalll business right up to big enterprises where I am working. I now UNDERSTAND things instead of just guessing.

I can now create simple solutions with Sharepoint, Excel & Infopath in minutes or hours that 2 years ago would just not have happened - they would have needed a web designer, a database designer, a programmer, months of planning, & too much money.

If you are responsible for setting up or managing Sharepoint sites, or if you just need to know if Sharepoint is the right way to go, buy it!!!
Excellent book for any user of MOSS 2007 - By: P. J. Coventry, 19 Aug 2007
There are now a large number of books on Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, so it's hard to know which ones to choose. If you are new to MOSS 2007, then this book is for you, & even if you are not then still buy it. It covers both how to use the product as well as how to administer it. A very hard mix to get right, but Amanda & Shane manage it just right. Loads of practical hands on exercises labelled as "Try It Out", & I love the little exercises at the end of each chapter. Well done.
Great Introductory Book to SharePoint 2007, WSS and MOSS - By: Siva Phimister, 11 Jul 2007
Having bought a couple of SharePoint 2007 beginner books to get up to speed on SharePoint, I found this book well written & the pace was just right. The Hands On section was easy to follow with quality screen shots. I found that I ended up using this book as my primer to SharePoint more than the others. Recommended for beginners.
