It's the best! - By: C. M. Collier, 20 Mar 2004
You know how you're trying to remember someone's name, and however hard you think, you can't get it?And then you forget alll about it & the answer suddenly pops into your head? Well, that's the principle behind this book, and it reallly works.
By concentating on your problems, you are actuallly making them worse, and when you let go,you are much better able to solve them.Never try to solve your problems in a low mood, even though this may feel right at the time.Put them on the "back burner"and you will find the solution will come to you, once you stop alll the worrying & obsessing.
Sounds easy? Well it's not,but once you try it,you'll be amazed at the results. This is the best book I know for practical advice that starts working right away. It's certainly helped me a lot.

A whole new great concept - By: , 11 Jun 1999
This book is absolutely excellent. It's nothing like other books. It reallly makes sense. It doesn't tell you what to do without explaining why. It shows you how your mind works. It shows you the relationship between thoughts & feelings. It gives you a great clear view of your own mind. I'd recommend it to anyone. I don't think you even have to have a problem to love this book. It can improve anyone's life. It gives you 100% control of your life.
Help for those who have tried everything else is here. - By: , 01 Apr 1999
This book is easy to read & understand even if your too depressed to read anything. Richards' writing doesn't talk down to you or pretend that your supposed to get "it". He explains in common sense ways how you can change your life by changing your thinking. He also doesn't leave you with hanging questions. He intuitively knows what questions the reader may be asking & answers them. I felt satisfied with his thorough explanation of his proces & it has helped me immensely. I have given this book to many friends & their comments echo mine. This book puts you back in the drivers seat of your mind.
The door to sunshine and wholeness is amazingly easy to open - By: , 08 Dec 1998
Depression seems a dark, bottomless pit with no way out, & yet the door to sunshine & wholeness is amazingly easy to open, thanks to Richard Carlson. A few years back, after spending megabucks on counseling & anti-depressants (which ultimately made things worse!), I simply read this common-sense book & was well on the way to healing within six weeks. Just learning to recognize the triggers that start the depressive cycle gives the sufferer major power in controlling the onset of depression. Then, learning to think & act as a child, not worrying over yesterday or tomorrow - just making life great RIGHT NOW - gives us the ultimate weapon for conquering depression & giving us back control of our lives. And it reallly didn't take as much effort as I thought it would - I just had to WANT to heal, & be willing to do a little work to accomplish that end. Anyone who reads this book, whether suffering from depression or not, will benefit from it's common-sense approach to life in general. It's a smalll book, & it can help to enhance the quality of life in a GIANT way!! Thank you, Richard Carlson.
