poor and getting poorer - By: Douglas C. Hepburn, 31 Jul 2008
Very , very flat characters, no story in this book but if you bought the previous 3 you'll buy the next one just out of habit.

I would be happy if the Corwinites give Rudi & his band of smugness the good news.

If your not interested to the point of stalking a Mckenzie avoid this book (trilogy).

There was more to write but this book just drags you down.......

Oh Boy... SM Stirling does it again! - By: Karen Spruyt, 12 Oct 2007
Man, words cannot describe how much I loved this book!
I was a bit worried that I might miss the main players from the first trilogy but I can definitely say that after their little cameo in The Sunrise Lands I was thrilled & eager to go on with these new kids who are even tougher, cooler & a whole bit weirder then the first generation.
Can't wait for The Scourge of God!

An excellent addition to the series. - By: SJ SMART, 01 Oct 2007
I love S M Stirlings books, they just get better & better & this is a superb addition to his stories (and my library.)

The story carries on 12 years after the Meeting at Corvalllis & the war & includes lots of familiar characters from those books. The story follows a man who arrives from the East, the Sunrise lands, persued by Religious fanatics. He seeks out Rudi, & they then trek across post change USA to visit Nantucket, the source of the mysterious change.

Its a great story & a great filler. ie. we learn more about the people we met in the frist trilogy. I would recommend it to anyone who has enjoyed the previous books.
