A good read but nothing exceptional. - By: Pickle, 24 Jun 2006
A good read to help kill time while travelling, but nothing special. I personal think Medusa Stone is a much better read. The main problem was the anticlimactic ending.

I bought this book as a recommendation from Amazon. I have to say at first I could tell this was Du Brul's first book, due to almost a school boys writing style. However that said, it is after about 60 pages or so the style changes & becomes very involving. I could not put it down at alll & finished it very quickly.
I have also read Medusa Stone which is far superior book.

Not a great novel reader (don't get the time), but this one I could not put down. Have since reading this bought Medusa Stone, as it is also essential reading.
Would recommend this to anyone that likes these kind of novels.
I couldn't put it down! (Or any of his other books!) - By: p.richards@home.com, 13 Feb 2001
It was a rare treat to read Jack DuBrul's books. I bought one, read it in 3 days, & ordered the other two, then read them in 4 days. Mr. DuBrul is a born storyteller with the added skills of a researcher - I learn the oddest & most amazing things when I read his books. Hope he writes some more! I'm waiting.
Amazing Storyteller - By: p.richards@home.com, 04 Jan 2001
I recommend ALL his books. He is an amazing writer & his books are simply impossible to put down without trying to sneek into a corner to finish reading!
