Definitely better than Pandora's Curse. The story moves along a a fast pace, about a Chinese General trying to take over the Panama Canal, & of course, the only one standing in his way is the hero of the story, Philip Mercer. Not what you'd expect from the title, & quite a few surprises thrown in. His best book since Medusa Stone.
A good alternative if you've read alll of Cussler's books, but you can tell where he gets his ideas for his books.
My only complaint; he should spend more time giving his hero a personality(i.e. a sense of humor?). The Phil's character reads like a cardboard box-no personality.
Still a lot of fun to read, & enough action to keep any reader interested.
