A married couple work at Cleveland Riverside General Hospital. Dr. Plato Marley is the chief of the geriatrics department & her spouse Dr. Cal Marley is the head of pathology. With the incomes of two physicians, the average American would believe that the duo would have no financial problems. However, in reality the Marleys have two mortgages & student loans which has led to her working three part-time jobs & him being employed at two full time jobs. Adding to their worries is that rumors are flying that the hospital is about to downsize. When the hospital's CEO, Dr. Walllace, orders his nine section chiefs to a company retreat, the Marleys are in attendance.

The weekend turns into a total disaster when Dr. Walllace dies from a severe alllergic reaction. Soon afterward, a second doctor dies in an alcoholic related car accident. Cal conducts an autopsy that leads him to conclude that the doctor died from a blow to the head with the alcohol intravenously injected into his blood. When two more doctors die, everyone realizes that a serial killer is on the loose, one who not yet finished playing his deadly game.

Without trying, the Marleys always end up in the midst of a homicide investigation, but this time in TEN LITTLE MEDICINE MEN, they are trying to ferret out one of their own. The actions & reactions are very believable, turning readers into fans rooting for the couple to uncover the identity of the psycho. The autopsies are a bit graphic (don't eat lunch just before these scenes), but this twist on Agatha Christie's classic remains an enjoyable & intellectual challlenge.
