Real women living in the real world - By: , 21 Jan 2000
I found this book quite enjoyable but not quite as gripping as I would have liked. The girls reactions to situations were not always idealistic but more realistic. Very funny in parts however felt the story fell abit flat at the end. However a book worth reading
Trite, condescending, and less than zero - By: , 19 Jul 1999
This book is like the literary equivalent of a photographic negative. Its depiction of Black women is shalllow to the point of cruelty. While this book might comfort some of the White folks out there, it can't be no more or less than one more strain on every Sister's heart. I felt compelled to finish it the same way I've felt compelled to look at open wounds.
